As said, the TM1637 can't drive larger 7-segment displays that have more than two LEDs per segment in series, because of the chip's supply voltage restrictions. Same goes for a 74HC595 shift register. They are all 5volt-only devices.
For large 7-segment displays, with usually have four LEDs per segment in series, you must use a chip that can switch 12volt, like the TPIC6x595/6 shift register I linked to in post#16.
Addressable LEDs is the other option, which requires access to a 3D printer.
