Runing SIMOTICS S-1FK7 without servo drive

Hello guys,
I am making mechanical linear system for a third party. The mechanics is driven by SIMOTICS S-1FK7 0,7kW servo motor.

Is there any option to run this motor with constant low rpm for a short period of time, in order to test if the mechanics work without heat buildup?

I addressed Arduino Support asking them if it is possible to do this with their equipment (I would like to avoid using Simanics V90 because we are mechanical workshop and have no electrical/programming knowledge), they recommended using Arduino PWM "maker" board, but also recommended posting the question on their forum for better support from experienced members.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers!
Dušan

A link to the servo motor datasheet would help us.

Hello Dushan,
Can you please give an overview about the electrical connections from Arduino to the motor. As the motor has a power of 0.7kW there is some electronic powermanagement inside this system. Can you give some more details.

Hello Mascho11,
Thank you for your effort.

I still have no equipment from Arduino, I would like to get some but I do not know what to take. Do you have any suggestion what should I order from Arduino, so I can run Siemens servo motor.

Hi Railroader,
Thank you very much for your reply.

Here is from Siemwns official website

Hi, @Dushan
From the linked page;

The electronics inside will be the absolute position encoder.

How do you expect to control this motor when you have the project completed?

Can I suggest you go back to the servo supplier and ask them what is required to control the servo.
It will probably be a bit more than an Arduino.
OR
Ask the company/person who will be doing the installation and programming.

In the specs it quotes a UDC supply, which I assume is the DC bus supply, of 600Vcc for the controller.

Find yourself and Industrial Electronics Engineer or get consultation from an industrial equipment supplier.

Hi Tom,
Great to hear from you.

We assembly only mechanical parts, we are not involved in machine control (software/electric). For us is only important to have motor running at some speed to see if the mechanical parts work perfectly. At the time we do it with boring machine, but it is not so convenient.

So, if there is the way to run the motor with simple press on one button (speed is not of importance), it willl be a great support for us.

Cheers mate
