TP4056 Overheating

I accidentally left my esp32 rc controller turned on for like one week and the cells went 0.5v each.

When I tried to charge them with my TP4056, the module got extremely hot. But this only happens with the undervolted cells, I have 2 more cells and the TP4056 can charge them normally.

I also have a 2s BMS with a built-in charger, can I use it to charge them? It's a FDC 2S 2

Why is this happening? And how can I charge the undervolted cells?

These have been destroyed.

Oh...

A TP4056 board with under/over voltage protection could have saved your cells.
Don't try to charge cells that have been lower than ~2.5volt.

A TP4056 module with one chip should only be paired with protected cells.
If you don't have protected cells, then use a TP4056 board with three chips.

TP4056 are linear regulators, so will get warm during charging.
Leo..

Thanks to everyone.

I could save them. They are both 4.2v now

Leave them outside in a safe (fireproof) place for a week before using them.
Then measure the voltage again.

Alright

Nothing happened, and the voltages are still 4.2~4.1 on both cells.

I think they're good
