Hi @crosseal. Which operating system are you using (e.g., "Windows")?

I ask because I would like to request you to provide some additional information and I want to give you the appropriate instructions for your operating system.

Im using chrome on windows 11.

I think the next step in investigating the problem is to determine whether the port is recognized by Windows itself. This will tell us whether the problem is specific to the Arduino Create Agent tool, or whether it is at a deeper level (e.g., hardware or driver problem).

Please do this:

  1. Open the Windows Device Manager.
  2. Unplug the USB cable of your Arduino board from your computer if it is currently connected.
  3. Plug the USB cable of your Arduino board into your computer.

Do you see any new device appear in the Device Manager tree after doing this? If so, please tell us where it is located in the tree and what it is named.

You can repeat steps 2-3 multiple times if you are not sure.

:exclamation: NOTE: These instructions will not solve the problem. They are only intended to gather more information which might provide a clue that eventually leads to a solution.

it didn't do anything

OK, this is valuable information for troubleshooting. For now, you should forget about Arduino Web Editor and focus on getting the Mega to appear as a device in Windows Device Manager because this reduces the complexity of the system. If the port doesn't show up in Device Manager, then it doesn't have a chance of showing in Arduino Web Editor because this means it isn't even recognized at the lower level of the operating system.

Make sure the USB cable is completely plugged into both the Arduino board and the PC.

If that doesn't help, you may have a damaged/defective or charge-only USB cable. Try a different cable.

Either of the above can result in the power connections being made (and thus LED lights on the board), but no data connections (and thus no port for the board), so don't assume just because there are lights on the Mega that the cable is good.

the lights are on

yellow blinking, green steady
im using the cable from Vincent kit for Arduino. still not showing up on ide or online
need help

I created this topic earlier, started getting help, the person who was helping stopped, so I created this. Pls help.

I have merged your cross-posts @crosseal.

Cross-posting is against the Arduino forum rules. The reason is that duplicate posts can waste the time of the people trying to help. Someone might spend a lot of time investigating and writing a detailed answer on one topic, without knowing that someone else already did the same in the other topic.

The fact that you were not getting assistance as soon as you would like does not give you an exemption from the forum rules. You need to be patient. The helpers here on the forum are ordinary humans with "real life" obligations and the need to sleep. It is allowed to "bump" your post after a couple of days have passed (but not sooner) without any response in order to get the attention of the helpers here. When you do that, you should provide an update of the things you have tried and the results you got (surely you should have taken the initiative to do some research and experimentation over the course of those days).

Repeated cross-posting can result in a suspension from the forum.

In the future, please only create one topic for each distinct subject matter. This is basic forum etiquette, as explained in the "How to get the best out of this forum" guide. It contains a lot of other useful information. Please read it.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Is that the only cable you tried? If so, try a different cable. That one might be bad.

@pert sorry about that, I was panicking, and I completely understand. ill stick to this post. Thanks

Tried that, used a cable from a microphone, no luck

Try plugging the cable into a different USB port on your computer. It is possible the port is damaged or disabled due to an overload condition.

Sadly, that didn't work either. Tried a USB hub too.

It seems likely there is physical damage to the board. Do you have another Arduino board you can try?

no, this is my only one
The yellow light is continuously blinking, green is steady

Its actually a new one.

I too having same problem, and i'm using esp32 and the port is working properly and it was also working on Arduino IDE, but the agent was not able to detect it.
