ATTiny13 not programmable through IDE

Hello iam try to programm ATTiny13 through IDE but nothing works. Maybe you guys can help me.

i followed this tutorial ( http://www.instructables.com/id/Programming-an-ATTiny13A-using-Arduino-servo-int)
and get only this Error message in IDE:

avrdude: please define PAGEL and BS2 signals in the configuration file for part ATtiny13
avrdude: stk500_program_enable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x50
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.

avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

so i tried it with USBasp Programmer but i get this Error message:

avrdude: error: programm enable: target doesn't answer. 1
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.

What I´m doing wrong ?

It is most likely bad connections.
Are you sure that the chip is positioned properly, the small dot indicates pin1.
Also I don't see a 10uF capacitor on the Uno to disable the reset, althoug this is maybe optional

Could you take a picture ?

i have checked the Connections and now i get this error message:

Binäre Sketchgröße: 682 Bytes (von einem Maximum von 1.024 Bytes)
avrdude: please define PAGEL and BS2 signals in the configuration file for part ATtiny13
avrdude: Yikes! Invalid device signature.
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.

avrdude: please define PAGEL and BS2 signals in the configuration file for part ATtiny13

This message can be ignored

Try enable vebose output (in files preferences upload)

here is the log file i got:

avrdude done. Thank you.

This symptom is very similar if the tiny13 fuse settings are set for a slow clock rate and the Arduino as ISP or USBASP programmer cannot slow down enough to program it.

CodingBadly has a sketch like Arduino as ISP but can slow down enough to reprogram the tiny13.
Check out Google Code Archive - Long-term storage for Google Code Project Hosting.

Unzip this to a folder (name it TinyISP) in your sketch folder and upload it to your Uno. It operates like Arduino as ISP programmer. I believe the default is for a slow clock rate to support the tiny13.

I am just wondering if this is the same problem I encountered (and which you solved for me Mr Hiduino !)

please see -> ATTINY85 : USBasp programming fail "target doesnt answer..." - #6 by mcnobby - Microcontrollers - Arduino Forum

thanks now its working :grin:

What was your resolution? It would help others to know if they encounter the same or similar issue.
