DISCORD >:(

the forum will be slow to get answers on

It would be interesting to compare the response times between the two sites. The Discord platform itself gives an advantage in this respect as it uses instant messaging. However, I have always been very impressed with the fast response time of the Arduino community here on the forum. I frequently have the experience where by the time I'm done typing out an answer, someone else has already posted it before me! And I even have the advantage of a large collection of pre-prepared answers ready on hand for quick copy/paste.

Right now discourse seems broken at sign in (again) !

Can somebody tell them this invite thing has expired (whoops)

Have seen both fast and slow responses over there so whilst it does have some speed advantages they are not always useful if there is nobody to answer it.

At least we can re-direct a little better I think here.
But the "@user" tag over there is much more reliable than ours.

Might be nice to try fix ours one day ?

And this bit is truly broken so no way past it to continue.

That's certainly unfortunate. If you only need to get in, you could try entering via https://discord.com/ instead of that invite link you get via the Community > Discord menu or Help Center links.

Our @user mention feature is extremely reliable. It reliably doesn't do anything special!

I still tend to use it because with certain user names, it might not be clear whether I'm referring to the user, or just using a word in the sentence. I don't bother to consider whether a username is prone to that sort of confusion, I just use it indiscriminately. I think the @ convention is common enough that when a word is prefixed with it, most people understand that indicates a user name.

I can get past the invite easily enough its the birthday verification that blocks me as it does not do anything.

Yes on the @user not working LOL it is 100% reliable.
Getting it going again might be worth the effort through.
It is almost a MUST on discord to pull threads back into line otherwise the convo goes awfully lopsided at the drop of a hat.

Can anyone please tell where to post Arduino discord server related issues? On discord? :smiling_imp:

Ask over there
