Mount LCD

How can i mount a 16x2 LCD vertically above plexiglass surface?
Any ideas would help..

A bit more description would help.

It's fascinating what you can do with silicone sealant, if you clamp it in place for 24 hours while it sets.

If you want it faster and can guarantee it will never get hot, hot melt glue.

Thanks for you reply Paul__B.
I have a plexiglass surface with arduino and some sensors placed over it... There is some small space left where i want to place the LCD, however it fits only if placed vertically..
Hot glue sounds nice idea, but what if i have to remove the LCD for a reason? It's going to be covered in glue.. :astonished: :astonished:

Yes , this might help.. i will try one of those and i will let you know..

I just use a couple of small wood or plastic cubes, say 12x12x12mm. Then drill a hole through 2 of the sides and mount with screws.
Also, you can make an L-bracket with a bit of aluminum, brass or tin and drill the holes.
For a solder connection, I use a female header with long pins. Bend the pins at 90 degrees and drill a hole through the plastic. Then solder the pins to whatever you want to hold.

Said nothing about covering everything in glue. Two or three beads of glue at judicious points between the two parts. Careful use of a knife will separate it, or use the tip of the glue gun to melt the bead again. Silicone can be cut and a tiny smear over the cut part will allow it to be put back in precisely the same position.

Possibly even better than hot melt glue would be polycaprolactone.

You add one of these. Angle Bracket - 4-40 - PRT-10228 - SparkFun Electronics

That price is amazing! Fifty cents for a single tiny bracket!

It won't stick that good to smooth surfaces. Just wiggle it a few times and it will come off if needed.

I tried those, the result looks perfect. Thanks for your nice idea !!!
