Not seeing Arduino menu eg, file, edit, sketch tools, help

Hi folks,

Jimbo here, I am a total newb to Arduino.
I have installed the Arduino from the Arduino website, for an iMac.

I am running mcOS High Sierra
version 10.13.6

I have managed to create a couple of basic sketches, but when I watch tutorials, They all seem to simply click on drop-down menus for the above-mentioned functions, these functions are just not available to me.
The second little issue that I must constantly re-install the plug-in.

I have no idea why these things are so, any help advice, corrective directions will be greatly appreciated. I have a project on the go and without these functions available, I am at a bit of a loss.

On macOS, the IDE's interface works a bit differently from the Arduino IDE on other operating systems. The menu is on the top bar, as is the standard convention with all macOS applications:

Which plugin?

Are you using the Arduino IDE or are you using the Arduino Web Editor?
