My heat gun arrived this morning, all i had in mind for it was heat shrinking tube..
I got a circuit board 10 minutes later I had all the surface mounted components off the board 
CPU's, USB connecters, resistors, you name it, so much fun
i've only just stopped stripping down boards lol, i'll be seeing my usage in the next electric bill!
Why did i not buy one of these months ago! (rhetorical i know)
Sounds very useful - what heat gun did you buy? type? power consumption?
how about the gasses ? toxic or just bad smell?

I bought it from ebay, it arrived in a box and postal wrapped.

1.6kwatts with a huge variable resistor on the back from low to high (almost set the PCB on fire with it... it's hot enough) for the price what can i say, it's half the price of anything you can buy from Australia.
