Does anyone know which sensor should I buy in order to count how many times a ball hit the sensor? Knowing that I will be dropping the ball from above and the sensor will count how many times the ball rebounded. Thanks!
Do you mean that literally?- you want the sensor to do the counting?
I want it to recognize the object passing and then I could make a program.

For passing you could try an ir or ultrasonic proximity sensor, for hitting you could try a knock sensor.
Hmm, let me get this straight. Sorry for my missconceptions. I basicly want a sensor that will record when the ball hit the sensor and then start a timer. After the ball rebounds and goes down again, it records the time it took to hit again the sensor. And repeat this until the ball has no energy.
What material is the ball? Is the ball contained in some way? Like maybe in a tube?
A piezo disk attached to a heavy metal plate will produce a voltage pulse when a ball hits the plate.
