SOLVED Connector on TW10S Laser Range Sensor

Good day. I am using a TW10S laser range sensor. It is working fine, but I need to make a new cable for it. Can anyone tell me what type of connector is used on this board? It has a 1.0mm pitch between the pins and it is NOT a JST-SH type connector (although it is similar).

Any ideas? Thanks.

Is this your board?

Yes, but the connector description is incorrect. It says "Double row 2.54 row jack", but is obvious from the photos that it is actually a single row connector. I measured the pin pitch at 1.0 mm.

Why not replace the board connector with a JST SH 1.0mm Pitch 5 Pin?

Original connector:

I'd like to be able to do that but, unfortunately, the original connector is surface-mounted and I have neither the tools nor the skills to perform such delicate soldering. Alas, my hope was to determine the connector type and to be able to purchase a pre-wired cable.

What are you currently using for the cable connector?

Where did you buy the board?

I purchased it from AliExpress which provided good documentation about communicating with the sensor, but nothing about the connector. I originally used the cable that came with the sensor which I modified for my design. However, due to some design changes (I need to use a different ESP32 dev board), the original cable is no longer usable.

There are many types of JST, for example GH, and SM. I would call a JST rep

I usually use mouser. com to find parts. In your case I would search for connectors > headers and wire housing, then filter the search results using the pitch size, number of positions, number of rows, etc.
good luck!

SOLVED. I was originally mistaken, thinking that the 1.0mm pitch of the SMD pads of the female connector on the board would be the same as the pin pitch. I was wrong. The actual pin pitch is 1.25mm. I was finally able to determine that it is an MX type connector and was able to find some pre-crimped connectors on Amazon.
