Sorry this is not totally an Arduino or electronics question, although sourcing parts is often part of the fun job.
I have a AEEON PICO-KBU4 pico-itx board. The 2x5 connector you see below is meant to break out to Front Panel (ie. power button, reset button, hd activity led etc) so you can understand I want to use it! The manual says that the pairing connector for this connector is a "JCTC 11002H00-2x5P" but I can't for the life of me find anything useful about it online. The pitch is 0.80mm x 1.20mm.
Does anyone recognize this connector?
On every PC I have built, the front panel has a bunch of wires that end in individual square connectors and a USB connection or two. You just refer to the manual for the motherboard and plug them in one by one.
I don't think you need worry about the connector type, as far as I can tell, it's just there to defend those wires against you banging them when working inside the case.
You're right that the normal fpanel connections are a bunch of female pin headers but this connector is different. See the image below for it's pinout.
I can appreciate your reasoning though -> try to find a way to directly connect to the tiny pins that I want using a smaller kind of female pin header than the normal fpanel connector would have (those are 2.54mm pitch, this connector is 0.8mm x 1.2mm).
I think these are the correct specs for the socket and plug, found on the JCTC website:
Sourcing the plugs may be difficult for an individual consumer. I would start by contacting aaeon and asking them how to obtain a cable. If they are flogging the boards then they should also be making the accessories available, or should at least be able to point you in the right direction.
I was slightly enraged that you managed to find that on their website while I spent a copious amount of time 'next'-ing through their products page. Probably scrolled past this product and didn't recognize it
But yes... this does appear to be that connector. And I agree that it's probably easiest to ask the AAEON people about it.
Thank you so much!
