How do I connect the two? Via soldering? Is there some kind of adapter? The three metal parts coming out from beaneath the switch have a hole in them, how would I solder the wires to the metal parts? Please let me know.

Strip off some insulation, push the bare wire thru the holes and bend over so they stay put. Now solder each wire to the tabs.

Normally, you'd solder (soldering iron, solder, and flux). I'm sure there are thousands of YouTube videos. 
You could possible use Possibly Quick Disconnects which are crimped to the wires with a special crimping tool.
An electronics hobbyist should have a soldering kit, a supply of "hook-up wire", a multimeter (a cheap one is OK), wire cutters, wire strippers, and jeweler's pliers. (Thats what comes to mind off the top of my head.)

This should get you started. Use flux on all surfaces.
